VATRadar is a free app for flight simulation enthusiasts on VATSIM, built and maintained by one person. If something isn’t working, or you have an idea for how the app could be better, I’d like to hear about it.

If you’re reporting a problem, these details help me track it down:

  • Your device and iOS version — Settings › General › About
  • What you were doing when it happened, and what you expected instead
  • Your VATSIM callsign and roughly when you were connected, if the problem involved live flight data

Common questions

I’m not getting notifications for VATSIM private messages

VATSIM message notifications need the vPilot Push Notification Plugin installed on the computer you fly from — the app alone can’t see your private messages. See the vPilot Push Notification Plugin page for the download and setup instructions.

Once the plugin is installed, check that notifications are switched on under Profile › Settings › Notifications, and that iOS itself is allowing them under Settings › VATRadar › Notifications.

How do I delete my account?

Open the Profile tab and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your VATRadar account and everything stored with it: your VATSIM profile data, event favorites, notification history and settings, and push notification registrations. It cannot be undone. Your VATSIM account itself is not affected.

Something doesn’t work properly with VoiceOver

VATRadar was designed to be fully usable with VoiceOver, so this counts as a bug rather than a limitation. Please email me with the screen and the element involved, and I’ll get it fixed.

Where does my data go?

The privacy policy covers what is collected and who it is shared with.
